myVegas Trip Report

Thursday July 18th, 2013
We arrived at the Mirage early on July 18th, 2013.  Had no problem checking in early.  Used myVegas rewards for one free week night, one free weekend night, and two free nights.  Paid for Friday night July 19. Mirage had merged all my confirmations together which made check in much easier.  Advised that I wanted nothing billed to my room.  My CC was debited for $100.  They room was beautiful.  I can not say enough about it.  We were on the 28th floor room C11.  Our room was facing the Volcano which was pretty cool to watch at night.  I am not posting pictures of the room because I am sure many of you have seen pictures of the one bed room tower suite.  If you want to see a video of the suite here is a video on youtube that someone else made.  Our room looked just like this.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLa4k7wCr2g
My BFF  used free rewards from the myVegas game on hers and her husband's.  She had a standard room that was on the 20th floor.  It was one of the newly remodeled rooms.
My Brother paid $559 to stay on floor 19th in a standard room with two queen beds.  His room was old and out dated.  The carpet was dirty and the bed and furniture and decor needed up dating badly.
My sister was on the 18th floor.  Her room was clean.  That's about all I can say.  It was also very out dated.  Had dinner at Rock & Rita's at Circus Circus for dinner Thursday night.  No problem redeeming a reward for this one.  We had dinner four 4. Two very big hamburgers (all american and swiss mushroom) My BFF had a pulled pork sandwich.  Her husband had grilled salmon.  We all had drinks.  Bill was $72.00. We tipped the waiter $25,  He was a very good waiter giving us extra shots.  Good service, good food. Would definitely go again.

Friday July 19th, 2013
Got an early start and ate breakfast at McDonald's across the street from the Mirage.  Then on to Jerry's Tux Shop for Randy's tuxedo.

This tuxedo was $110.  We were done within an hour walking out with this tuxedo.  We did not return it til Monday.  There was no additional charges.  Both the Manager Mundo and his employees were very helpful and nice.  Here's a link to the Tux shop if your shopping around for a tuxedo in Las Vegas.  http://www.jerrystuxshop.com/
Then on to Freed's bakery  for our wedding cake.  Here is a picture of our cake.  This cake was chocolate and Bavarian creme.  It was quite beautiful.  But it did not taste as good as it looked.  I did also buy some chocolate covered strawberries and a piece of butter finger cheesecake.  That was under $5.00.  Now these tasted good.  This cake fed 25 people and cost $188.

We were married at the Chapel of Flowers.  I have a ton of pictures on facebook so I will only post one on this blog.

We took a party bus down the strip for two hours after the wedding.  It poured down rain on our wedding night but it didn't last long.  We stopped at the Bellagio to take some pictures of the botanical Gardens.
My sister and brother-in-law.
Then we went to Diablo's for dinner at the Monte Carlo.  Again no problem redeeming this reward.  We had street taco's and chicken taco's and a combination plate.  It was about $72 with the gratuity added in.  I have to say the food was just okay here.  The service was good.

After we left Diablo's we took the free tram from the Monte Carlo to Bellagio.  We walked from the Bellagio back to the Mirage on our way we meet my friend.
The walk back totally sucked and by the time I got back to my room.  My buzz was gone.  Should have took a  taxi from Bellagio to the Mirage.  It cost $10.90 for 3 people at 11 pm on Friday night.  Pretty good I say.  Beats the hell out of walking.

Saturday July 20, 2013
We got a late start on Saturday.  Stopped by the box office at the Mirage and picked up our tickets for Zarkana at the Aria.  You can pick up you tickets at any Cirque du Soleil box office.  Then stopped by the Sugar Factory at the Mirage.  Was going to redeem a freshly popped popcorn but it wasn't fresh and it seemed like a waste of 2,500 lps.  The Sugar Factory at the Mirage is small and does not have a lot of merchandise.  We had brunch at Delight's at the MGM Signature.  You have to go to the Mlife player's club in the MGM Grand to redeem this award from myVegas.  Then take the moving walkway to the MGM Signature.  This award was for $50.  We each had a sandwich with red bliss potato salad, a drink, and we ordered a chicken pizza  and two fruit cups to go.  Total bill $49.  This little cafe was small but nice and the service was good.  The food was okay.
Back to the Mirage to get ready for the 7 pm show Zarkana at the Aria.  We had excellent seats for the show.  There were ten members in our group and we booked our tickets two months ahead of time.  We sat back in the couch seats.  There have been mixed reviews about this show from readers,  but I thoroughly enjoyed this show.  Yes it is a made up language that they sing to but the show was fantastic.

Everyone was tired after the show and went back to their rooms.  I felt like a little drinking and I was dying to play the slots.  So I went downstairs at the Mirage and started on The Wizard of OZ-The Enchanted Forest.  My waitress came by, I ordered a screw driver.  She took awhile to bring my drink and my money was going fast.  (I hate it when you can't even play for awhile).  The waitress came back with two drinks.  I tipped her $2.  She came back again very shortly with two more drinks.  I tipped her another $2.  If you want drinks, you need to tip and 50 cents is not enough.  Just sayin.  I got two drinks each time and they kept coming back.  $200 later and about 7 screw drivers I decided to call it a night.  I stopped at the Micheal Jackson game and got back $125 of my money.

Another quick stop in McDonald's with the family for breakfast. We said our good byes to some family members and went to The Secret Garden.  It was over cast and a light sprinkle.  It was the perfect day for this attraction. Again, we had no problem redeeming this reward.  We watched the dolphins paint and looked at the big white tiger and the lions.  I tried getting good pictures but the dolphins were faster then me.  The lions just laid there so I was able to take pictures of them.

After this attraction we went to the MGM Grand to redeem our rewards for the Sugar Factory.  The Sugar Factory at the MGM Grand is much larger and has more merchandise.  We redeemed 5 cotton candies between all of us.  The young lady was very nice and made our cotton candy for us.  I thought $12 for a lb of candy was high so I did not redeem my  BOGO for candy.  We did redeem the lips reward.  Here is a picture of my daughter-in-law with pink polka dot lips.  Pretty cool I think.

We went to Sirio at the Aria for dinner.  We had four $52 rewards between 7 of us.  I had made reservations for dinner at 6 pm in the dining room several months prior.   The hostess advised us if we were in eating in the dining room we could only eat from menu one.  She said if we ate in the cafe we could eat from menu one and menu two.  Thought this was odd as they were not busy.  We waited while they set up a table for us in the Cafe area.  Each of our orders in the group was well over $100.  The service was excellent and they food again was just okay for Italian food.  When the bill came we presented our vouchers.  The waitress told us we could only use them on the Anti Pasta Platter.  None of us had ordered the platter.   The manager came over and I explained to him that I had called and made reservations and asked about the reward and was advised that we could spend $52 on anything on the menu.  Because of the mis-information the manager Jeff honored our rewards.  I just want everyone to know that you have to order the anti pasta platter for this reward.  I thanked them for their service and left a $25 tip.

We stopped by Jean Philippe Patisserie Restaurant for crepes after dinner.  I had the chocolate brownie crepe and Randy had the apple sugar pecan crepe.  They were $20 and they were delicious.

Again, my family went to bed and me and my sister and my son Phill caught the free tram from the Mirage to TI for check out their slots.  (nice simple easy tram ride) I was looking for old skool slots.  Only found a few.  I did not have one waitress come around for any drinks.  Disappointed and $100 down I decided to leave TI.  This time when I got back to my room.  I started the jacuzzi bath and rolled a big blunt.  It felt awesome just soaking with the bubbles and smoking half of a blunt.  I sat there thinking why did I wait three days before doing this.  I watched the volcano erupt from the window of my room on the 28th floor.  It was pretty cool.  I tried taking pictures but they sucked and did not turn out.

Monday July 22, 2013
We were up early Monday and on our way to Circus Circus to redeem our Buffet rewards and our Rock & Rita's reward.  You have to join the Circus Circus players club for these rewards.  You do not need your Mlife players card.  The employee did not know how to do the rewards so she called the manager Marley.  Marley did my reward for the buffet and then my husband's reward for Rock & Rita's.  When my son gave her his reward she made a huffing and puffing sound and my son said sorry to her.  I told him it's her job.  She back very nice after that.  We went to have breakfast at the buffet.  The breakfast buffet is $15.99 per person.  We paid for an extra buffet.  This is your typical breakfast buffet.  Nothing to write home about.  It's a cheap price for cheap food is all I can say.  Circus Circus still looks like crap from the outside but I was surprised how clean and updated it was inside.  It definitely is a hotel casino for families with kids.  We then left and went on our way returning to the wedding chapel for our photos and returning the tuxedo.  We returned to Circus Circus for dinner at Rock & Rita's.  I say valet park instead of wasting your time parking in the back of the casino.  I love Rock & Rita's.  We got the same young waiter as we had Thursday night. He remembered us.  We had 2 $50 vouchers.  We ordered a sampler plate and the waiter told us margaritas for 2 for 1.  So we had four rounds of four drinks.  The waiter put double shots in each of our drinks.  We also ordered two tri tip sandwiches.  A chili Burger.  A swiss mushroom burger and an another burger.  The total bill was $101.02.  We used our vouchers and tipped our waiter $35.  This way by far my most favorite place to eat and drink while in Las Vegas this time.
My son at Rock & Rita's.

We had no problem in redeeming our rewards on our trip to Las Vegas.  When I returned home on Tuesday my bank account had already been credited back.  Hope you enjoyed my long draw out trip report.  Now to start saving lps for my trip back to Las Vegas in December 2013.
